A keynote has two jobs. Move the room while it’s happening, and leave something behind that people use on Monday morning. Right now every conference is circling the same weather, and my answer to it is that thriving in a complex world is a team sport.
I speak about what good looks like in the world’s greatest teams. The base is the decade the world’s champion rugby team spent travelling from a record defeat to back-to-back World Cups, decoded in my new book, and organisational effectiveness work since 1997 across corporates, start-ups and public institutions.

What changed between 57-0 and back-to-back World Cups?
On 16 September 2017 the world’s champion rugby team suffered the heaviest defeat in their history, 57-0. Six years later they were back-to-back world champions, beating France, England and New Zealand in successive knockouts by a single point each. Many of the same players were on the field for both. This talk follows what changed in between, from the environment the leaders built to the standards the squad enforced.
